In specific scenarios where asset managers face collective liquidity risk and the bond market is under systemic stress, systemically important bank wealth-management subsidiaries and public fund managers (or their parent banks or securities firms) may borrow central-bank bills for repo financing, use the proceeds to buy eligible bonds or units from their own mutual-fund products facing redemptions, and pledge those assets to the PBOC. Participants must continue to meet macroprudential requirements. Governor Pan Gongsheng previewed the tool at the Financial Street Forum on 19 October. Reuters reported the announcement. Share · Copy
