China's Southern regional power market, covering five provinces, moves into formal operation.
On 24 October the Southern regional electricity market moved from trial to formal operation, covering Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan, with coal, hydro, nuclear, wind and solar power bidding under the same rules. Officials call it China's first regional power market.
