China's MFA posted a readout about 18:09: the 11th Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) foreign ministers' meeting was held in Beijing on 4 November, co-chaired by Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow, with Cambodia's Prak Sokhonn, Laos's Thongsavanh Phomvihane, Vietnam's Le Hoai Trung and Myanmar's U Aung Naing Oo attending. Xinhua (about 17:55) reported the joint press conference afterward, saying the six ministers agreed China–Mekong trade had surpassed $500 billion—up 150% in a decade and about half of China–ASEAN trade—that the 'Safe Lancang-Mekong' campaign had hit cross-border online gambling and telecom fraud, and that the LMC Special Fund had backed more than 1,000 projects. The meeting adopted the 2025 progress report on the LMC Five-Year Action Plan (2023–2027) and the 2026 Special Fund project list; parties agreed to stay in close contact to make the fifth LMC leaders' meeting a success. Wang set out five lines—solidarity, open win-win cooperation, green innovation, security collaboration and disaster management—and welcomed more Mekong states into the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization. He also held bilateral meetings with the five Mekong counterparts. Yicai (about 18:26) carried the MFA readout. Lianhe Zaobao, citing Reuters, said Wang urged stronger integrated law-enforcement and security cooperation; Sihasak said the meeting also discussed an innovation corridor spanning smart agriculture, digital trade, AI, education, healthcare and sustainable tourism. The Standard (HK) and Devdiscourse also ran the Reuters wire. Wang's pre-meeting bilaterals with Thailand, Laos and Myanmar are already at chinaday.news/i/85.
